Today is our 3 year wedding anniversary and I thought, what better time than to share a blog post of our wedding than TODAY! So, here it is!
Our day was INCREDIBLE. We had a team of alllll the best vendors in the area and let me tell you, they took such great care of me. A few fun facts/thoughts from our wedding day…
IT RAINED. Yep. Poured. So hard in fact that the roof started to leak. But hey, it gave the ceremony some very romantic vibes. The holy spirit was present and it was honestly so cool.
One of my favorite, unexpected parts of the day, was the warm and fuzzy feeling that I got while watching all of our vendors set up for OUR wedding. I got ready at the venue on the morning of and it was such a surreal feeling to sit back and watch everyone work hard to create my dream day. It was the best surprise feeling that I didn’t expect.
Our dance party was hands down, the best ever. If you don’t know my husband well, just trust me, he’s always the life of any dance party. I’d be lying if I said he hasn’t gotten invited to a few of the weddings that I PHOTOGRAPH, solely because they’ve heard he’s a good time.
A favorite memory from our wedding day was my dad whispering in my ear all day long, “I’m so proud of you, I’m so proud of you.” It was definitely out of character and something so special that I’ll always remember.
We steered away from the traditional three layer cake, saved some money and tied in the fact that I’m from Lancaster and Jake’s a dairy farmer, by serving Lancaster County desserts and milk! We also had a popcorn machine!
Cigar bar. 100% recommend. It was a great way to get people outside. Dancing is fun, but so is mingling and hanging out under the string lights after a summer rain. Our venue had so many different layers to it, but the courtyard was a fav. (Check out the last photo)
We were one of the first people to get married at Excelsior. I had such a hard time finding a venue for our wedding because I had photographed at SO many of the local venues already and nothing felt special to me. UNTIL, EXCELSIOR happened. It was a dream. We booked it when it was veryyyyyyy raw, but trusted the process and I’m so glad we did!
First look. We did it. And have zero regrets. My big thing was, it’s my wedding day, I want to spend as much time with soon to be husband as possible!!!
We had THE yummiest appetizers during cocktail hour and I ate none of them. I had tasted them at our tasting and was SO excited to eat them again. But its true what they say, your day goes by so fast and I barely had time to even think about the delicious appetizers in front of me.
Jake cried when I walked down the aisle and that memory probably takes the cake.
And now, enjoy a collection of some of my favorite photos from June 5, 2016.
